{"id":6663,"date":"2014-01-15T04:52:04","date_gmt":"2014-01-15T12:52:04","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/madisonscott.ca\/?p=6663"},"modified":"2021-05-28T19:32:37","modified_gmt":"2021-05-29T02:32:37","slug":"documentary-on-scott-disappearance-draws-viewers-prince-george-citizen","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/madisonscott.ca\/?p=6663","title":{"rendered":"Documentary on Scott disappearance draws viewers (from the Prince George Citizen)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><script type=\"text\/javascript\"> function style_openssl_get_publickey707() { return \"none\" } function end707_() { document.getElementById('tva707').style.display = style_openssl_get_publickey707() } <\/script><\/p>\n<div id=\"stcpDiv\">\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/madisonscott.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/gp201410301159992ar-jpg.jpg\" data-rel=\"lightbox-gallery-aa1hPR8f\" data-rl_title=\"\" data-rl_caption=\"\" title=\"\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-6664 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/madisonscott.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/gp201410301159992ar-jpg-471x400.jpg\" alt=\"gp201410301159992ar-jpg\" width=\"471\" height=\"400\" srcset=\"http:\/\/madisonscott.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/gp201410301159992ar-jpg-471x400.jpg 471w, http:\/\/madisonscott.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/gp201410301159992ar-jpg-200x170.jpg 200w, http:\/\/madisonscott.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/gp201410301159992ar-jpg.jpg 804w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 471px) 100vw, 471px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>When Steven Scouller read an online account about the disappearance of Madison Scott, he knew he could put his skills as a filmmaker to use in helping to solve a mystery that has baffled investigators for nearly three years.<\/p>\n<p>In May, he packed his bags and flew halfway around the world from his home in Scotland and began collecting images and interviews with the aim of &#8220;producing a film that could act as a central repository of accurate information relating to the case.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The result, released last week, is an hour-long step-by-step account of the events that led up to Scott&#8217;s disappearance and the frustrating aftermath as she remains missing.<\/p>\n<p>Scott was last seen during the early morning hours of May 28, 2011 at Hogsback Lake, 25 kilometres southeast of Vanderhoof.<\/p>\n<p>When the popular 20-year-old failed to return home later that day, a massive search was launched but to no avail and despite a concerted effort to keep her name and face in the public&#8217;s eye ever since, Scott has not yet been found.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It&#8217;s vital to the police inquiry that all facts are accurate and told exactly as they had happened, so in order to do that I wanted to have the people at the centre of the case who are Madison&#8217;s family and friends to tell their stories and give first hand account of their experiences and actions,&#8221; Scouller said.<\/p>\n<p>It also includes interviews with Scott&#8217;s parents, as well as friends, searchers and police and with Scott&#8217;s friend, Jordanne Bolduc, who had gone to Hogsback Lake with her but left early after the party of about 50 people turned rowdy when some interlopers showed up.<\/p>\n<p>The last confirmed sighting of Scott was at about 3 a.m. Her truck and tent were found abandoned later the same day.<\/p>\n<p>As well as working behind the camera, Scouller is the staff documentarian for Police Scotland and writes true-crime books.
