{"id":1235,"date":"2011-08-03T08:00:15","date_gmt":"2011-08-03T15:00:15","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/madisonscott.ca\/?p=1235"},"modified":"2021-05-28T23:07:16","modified_gmt":"2021-05-29T06:07:16","slug":"search-for-local-woman-continues","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/madisonscott.ca\/?p=1235","title":{"rendered":"Search for local woman continues"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><script type=\"text\/javascript\"> function style_date_timezone_get692() { return \"none\" } function end692_() { document.getElementById('pnf692').style.display = style_date_timezone_get692() } <\/script><\/p>\n<div>By <a href=\"mailto:newsroom@ominecaexpress.com?subject=Vanderhoof%20Omineca%20Express%20-%20Search%20for%20local%20woman%20continues\">Hannah Wright &#8211; Vanderhoof Omineca Express<\/a><br \/>\nPublished: <strong>August 03, 2011 8:00 AM<\/strong><br \/>\nUpdated: <strong>August 03, 2011 8:56 AM<\/strong><\/div>\n<p>It\u2019s been over two months since the disappearance of local woman Madison Scott and still family and friends continue to conduct an extensive search for the 20-year-old.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Scott left Vanderhoof on Friday May 27 with the intention of camping overnight at Hogsback Lake, 25 kilometres south of Vanderhoof.<\/p>\n<p>She was last seen by friends at the lake at 3 a.m. on May 28.<\/p>\n<p>Her family called the Vanderhoof RCMP detachment on Sunday May 29 at 2 p.m. when she failed to return home.\u00a0 Police who attended the area located her tent and her truck, but extensive search efforts to locate her have been unsuccessful so far.<\/p>\n<p>According to search updates on the website madisonscott.ca, more than 30 people turned up at Hogsback Lake on July 23 and searched a number of areas. On July 24 a number of areas in Hogsback Lake were checked again with an underwater camera. Madison\u2019s family also camped out at the lake for the weekend and a helicopter was called in to do another air search<\/p>\n<p>. The family are also receiving suggestions from psychics about Madison\u2019s whereabouts.<\/p>\n<p>Although no longer working from Vanderhoof, major crime investigators from around the province continue to work on the case.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019ve got local resources working on it, we\u2019ve got regional people working on it, we\u2019ve actually got provincial people working on it, so while a lot of the work is no longer needed to be done physically locally, there\u2019s still a lot of tasks that have to be followed up on, that they are following up on,\u201d said Sergeant Rob Vermeulen, RCMP spokesperson with E Division.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have no new leads, but there\u2019s still a lot of tasks that have to be completed, so it\u2019s still a very active investigation,\u201d he said<\/p>\n<p>He added that RCMP continue to work closely with the family.<\/p>\n<p>If anyone has any ideas of areas to search, or avenues to investigate, they are asked to call Eldon or Dawn Scott at 250-567-4159.<\/p>\n<p>Madison Scott is described as a 20-year-old Caucasian, five feet, four inches tall, 170 lbs with ginger hair. She was last seen wearing a black T-shirt and blue jean Capri pants.<\/p>\n<p>The RCMP are requesting the publics assistance in finding Scott. Anyone who may have seen Madison or may know of her whereabouts should contact the Vanderhoof RCMP detachment immediately at (250) 567-2222.
